Casey

by James Donovan
(Seabeck, Wa. USA)

Casey was a domestic short hair. Basically, a house cat; but he loved to roam in the yard and catch field mice, which he would bring home for us as presents. His main food was Meow Mix dry food but, occasionally, he would like a little canned cat food. His special treat was Temptation treats.

Casey was only 11 years old when cancer took him and he has left a void in my life. He was my only companion since my wife died 3 years ago. She loved him very much and he used to love to snuggle on her chest. He would also cuddle up against me while we were sleeping.

Casey had a personality that couldn't be matched. He was friendly to everyone. If you came into his house, family or stranger, he would jump in your lap, tweak you with his whiskers, and if you patted him. you automatically became his friend for life.

If you have a cat, or cats. I only hope you love and treasure them, as I loved Casey. Like the saying goes "Cats are like potato chips, you can't just have one" so, in time, I will find another.

But Casey will always be remembered.
